As winter takes full hold of Das Halali, the desire to venture out grows stronger. Be it the rush of the slopes, a tranquil snowshoe walk, or a scenic horse-drawn sleigh ride, the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena offers unforgettable experiences for every guest.

Winter truly is something special: when thick snowflakes fall from the sky, snow crystals sparkle in the sunlight, our cheeks turn rosy, the snow crunches under our feet, and darkness settles early in the evening.

The Ski Area Ehrwald

Ehrwalder Alm, Wetterstein-Sonnenhang or the Zugspitz Glacier – three ski areas, around 69 kilometres of slopes and 22 lifts right outside your door. With a guest card or ski pass, the free ski bus takes you comfortably to the slopes.

If you’re looking for even more variety, a multi-day pass gives you access to all seven ski areas in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena – 143 kilometres of slopes and 57 lifts.
Or go straight for the Top Snow Card: 214 kilometres, 90 lifts and limitless skiing pleasure all the way into Bavaria.

Our tip: soak up the sun on a mountain hut terrace with views of the Zugspitze – that’s what winter happiness feels like.

Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skiing can strengthen the body and do wonders for the soul. In the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena, you’ll find a varied network of trails totalling around 130 km. With the ski bus, you can move around freely, and all trails are free to use!

You’ll love it: gliding through the forest, across the moor landscape, along the snow-covered loop at the golf course, or from Biberwier to the Weißensee …

In Perfect Stillness

If you want to enjoy your winter holiday away from the slopes and cross-country trails, you’ll find plenty of peaceful places around Ehrwald that are just as magical in winter. Only a few steps from Das Halali, you can walk to Ehrwald via the Altmühlensteig or the old Kuhgasse. Take in the views of the valley basin on the panoramic trail to Lermoos, or hike high above on the Ehrwalder Alm—even in winter—to the Igelsee or the Talblick viewpoint.

If you’re planning a snowshoe hike, make it perfect with a cosy stop at the Gamsalm or the Hochthörle Hut.

On Two Runners Through Winter

Grab a toboggan and race down the natural sledding track from the Ehrwalder Alm. On designated sledding evenings, the ski huts on the Ehrwalder Alm come alive with music, and you can even zip down the illuminated ski slope.

With two runners on your feet, you can test your balance on the ice-skating rink in Ehrwald.

For a more relaxed experience, switch to the large runners of a horse-drawn carriage. Wrapped in warm blankets, you can let yourself be carried through the winter landscape in comfort.
